Training in Development of Policies & Procedures

We offer a two-day on-site training session entitled "Planning and Development of Policies and Procedures for Jails, Lockups and Detention Centers". Good policies, of course, are a critically-important element in an overall program of liability risk management. This excellent training session focuses on the following issues: importance of good jail/detention policies, benefits of good policies, role policies in liability risk reduction, subjects and topics to be covered in policies, guidelines for drafting policy statements and procedures, the policy review and revision process, implementing policies, training personnel in policy contents, and effective supervision to ensure compliance with policies. Participants have an opportunity to critique sample policies and to draft a policy and procedures.

Each participant receives a comprehensive manual which will serve as resource material in future policy development.
